As you all know now, Barack Obama is your new president.
I canīt say that I am overjoyed but I`m happy nontheless because he stands for a better America than McCain is although McCain is an honest man anyway.

Now, if he accomplishes most things of what he promised then well even more history will be written.
If he fails, well then USA has not learned anything except the one barrier
of rasism but as a whole it doesnīt make much of a difference today.
But with this said I wish him good luck and I also have to hand it over to McCain a bit for his speech after his defeat.
He seems to understand how the American people should head their way into and not stick around this foul separate USA you have today.

United you can bring USA to the vision your first president had over 200 years ago, A country that can be an example for all others by communication and understanding and not tyranny or by force and even better yet, a better life for yourselves. Wink

I give McCain credit for a very heartfelt and gracious concession speech. I always thought he was a good man, although the GOP campaign tactics made him look bitter and small on numerous occasions. Maybe the problem with the Republican party are the nasties who ran the campign. Look, now they've turned on their own and have thrown their very own VP candidate under the bus. Now THERE'S some loyalty for ya. Don't like Sarah Palin much, glad she's not going to be a very old heartbeat away from the red button, but to see them attack her like that is wrong. THEY picked her for crying out loud! Didn't they vet her first???????

Why is it you seem so concerned with our country ? Why don't you spend time trying to deal with you're countrys issues instead of ours?

You say this like you have a crystal ball or something, this clown has never been tested, he has no expierience. How is that better than McCain?A war hero, fought for his country, has reached accross party lines. You have no clue what you are talking about.

Everyone said during the election McCain voted with G.W.Bush 95 % of the time.At least he proved he would cross lines. Well Obama is the farthest to the left you can get. He agreed with his party 100 % of the time how is that any different? He's never once showed he would cross party lines.

Hey Handsdew.

I have no problem with that. We do need to step back, and let the rest of the world deal with their own **it for a while. I have always agreed to that. It won't happen, but we found some middle ground here.

Because you have the most powerful military on the planet and a people that are drugged and relatively dumbed down, and as such liable to be tricked and taken advantage of. History repeats itself. BloodStone, I'm detecting some hostility that isn't normal for your posting persona. Hard feelings about Obama I suspect, that seems to be quite a common theme the last few days.

Stop being retarded! Of course I don't like Obama. It's not hard feelings, it's I don't like what he stands for. He is not American. Boy are you observant. Rolling Eyes I don't like him for many reasons. Glad you figured me out.

The only ones I see where tricked where the brain dead who voted for Obama. Again I didn't make that historical mistake. I'm guessing you would have?

Micki, from what I've hear McCain is, "not a nice man". I heard that from a lady who's father was a politician in Arizona and grew up having dinner at McCain's house.

Bloodstone, the US has bases all over the world. We have a lot of influence all over the world. Of course people of other nations are going to be watching what is going on here and have an opinion.

That's the sort of thing I'm talking about. Not that I care any, but it's not very becoming to result to name calling when things don't go for the better.

How the shoe has shifted hey?

Huh.
Bush is out soon. Huge era of my life passed by all at once. I remember coming home for lunch in grade 5 or something and seeing the first tower smoldering away on TV, and then a couple of minutes passed and it occured to me that it was a news channel and it wasn't bullshit and I walked into the room too see mother and her husband wide-eyed, jaws-dropped at the second plane hit.... Then going to school and we did the whole minute of silence, everything was pretty serious for a while there. No talk of violent video games or anyone disagreeing about government policies. That was a long time ago. 7 years and some.

Anyway, reminiscing aside, I hope that Obama brings about the change that you want. And I watch grimly as that chance narrows itself.

Best of luck, and peace, Bloodstone, peace.

This is exactly why most of the world is hostile and worried about US.
War and Patriotism doesnīt make a country great, just powerfull but stupid.
We can say that McCain is a warhero on the condition that he gave his life, but the war he fought was non of US business in the first place plus you even got your asses kicked Laughing

ITīs been proven the last 8 years that fear and war doesnīt take your country or the rest of the world anywhere.
The change Obama is talking about is exactly what I`m talking about, to handle things differently other than just go invading countries for ilogical reasons.

There is a simple answer to that, "my countryīs" issues are not as big as your country has and its issues doesnīt affect the whole world like yours does which gives us the right to go against the US anytime because you made yourselves to the invaders now clean up your own mess!

A new patriotism? hmm

Hopefully it's not more of what we've seen with a fresh democratic coat of paint.

Prsonally i don't think America needs a new patriotism, it just needs a return to true patriotism, which is intelligent, discerning, and critical...

no matter who the leaders are.

But I think i understand the spirit of your words, and also hope americans can find more common ground in the coming yaers. We'll need all of it we can get.
