....
Anyways.
Before I see myself as an American, I see myself as a human being. I see myself as a member of the global citizenry separated by artificial lines on a geographical map in order to create the illusion that we are different and therefore desire different things. I see this as a fallacy in thinking. I think we need a leader who dreams beyond normal 2-D lines. We need a leader and a government that understands that a nationless world is an idea that not only can happen, but should happen.
Thank you. |

I see there are mints already striking Obama's image on coins.
That never lays good with me.
Sometime back after 'Shah' Sadaam was pulled from a hole, there was a certain mint that struck a coin, on one side, the word VICTORY along with Lord Dubya's smirking image,, on the other side, the word DEFEAT and a scruffy, raggity Sadaam.
Wouldn't it have been more respectful for that VICTORY coin to bare the image of a member of our Armed Forces instead of George W. Bush ?
And already Obama has his image on coins.
Although supporting of anything over McCain-Palin, I'm troubled over the fanaticism displayed and acted upon by these Obamanists. He is a President Elect, not a Messiah.
Mooning Maniacs and Fawning Fanatics trouble me and can do no good in a democratic society. I've already experienced this at another Forum.
Rather to being a Reaganist, McCainist, Palinist, or Obamanist, a true patriot has to put nation before leader and be a good human above all. |

Very well-said, BlackJim.
Inja,
I don't think Obama is that type of President because if you follow closely to what he says, he will still advance the interests of U.S. militarism. He will do so in a more albeit efficient and sly way, but he will do so still. That's not promising. Other than that, we'll see what happens after January 20,2009. Personally, I don't think Rahm Emmanuel was a progressive or wise choice. |

| Yes, you all make good points. I'm trying to stay open-minded & optimistic, but there are indeed troubling signs already. |

That is a start but not sufficient.
If one is trule to be a good human being, put the world first and not a nation.
That goes to all countries.
I can say though that countries like Iran has no brains at all.
And no USA is not really included in Iranīs category. |

Aquarian.....I'm not looking at Obama and believing he will bring change to imperialistic America. Quite the contrary.
Rahm Emmanuel is good at his job. Smart choice on Obama's part.
Problem is neither party works for the people. |
